9 Month Update!

Shoot! I started this post a couple weeks ago so that I wouldn't forget the stats from the doctor but instead I forgot to finish the update! Here it is a little late...

9 Months already!!!! Our little Princess turned nine months on December 28. She has grown and changed so much already, it's hard to believe this much time has gone by.  Of course we celebrated Adi's first Christmas and New Year.  Everything is just brighter with her!

Crazy girl excited about something!

Showing off her first tooth

just cracking up laughing

Wow I can walk! Scary!

Wow! Maybe it's fun to walk?!

Lovin' bath time!

Peek a Boo!

Attack of the crazy hair!

Into EVERYTHING!

Look I can pull every DVD off the shelf... a million times.

Besides being in to EVERYTHING! Adi is cruising along in development and she is so much fun (when she is not terrorizing the house!... ok she is still fun even then).

Adi's 9 month accomplishments include:

  • Cruising along the furniture (walking holding on)
  • Fastest crawler ever!
  • Stair climber (so scary when you think she is playing in the basement with you and then you hear a bang upstairs! Oops, Ben!)
  • Walks pushing a toy like her Scramble Bug
  • Starting to let go of things and just stand there holding on to nothing
  • Makes gibberish sounds that say, "hi" "dada" "ozzy" "kitty"  and "good" (hmmm I wonder what we talk about while daddy is at work)
  • Loves to use her little pincher grasp and eat cheerios, puffs, veggies, and other bite size things.
  • Finally got her first tooth December 12
  • Might be popping up a second tooth in the next week or so.

Adi was 16 lbs at her 9 month check up (10th percentile, little baby!) and 27 inches long (25th percentile). She's as healthy as they come.  We are loving all our time with this little mama, especially since Daddy is getting back in the military and will be leaving for stints of time again.  Next step will be walking!!

Christmas 2012 recap

Christmas with our little cutie was the best!

Christmas Eve we went to Grandma Geri's house for dinner.  Adi was on day two of a mommy strike (she wanted NOTHING to do with me... that included eating, sleeping, playing, anything!) so she was in a bit of a funk but surprisingly handled all the people pretty well.  We came home and opened a family present.  We all got new PJs and had a Christmas movie to watch.  We snuggled into bed and watched the Grinch and then had a family sleepover.  Needless to say, Adi was the only one who really slept.

Christmas morning was fun! Adi woke up and played with her new presents... well the bows and wrapping paper was actually more entertaining than any toy but that was expected.  Then Nana and Papa came over and we had Christmas casserole and caramel rolls! Yummy!!!! I've had those almost every single Christmas of my whole life and now I am taking over the tradition.  They weren't perfect but it was a good first try.

Scramble Bug!

The bow on the seat was the best part!

I can barely touch the ground!

So how does it move?

Oh I go backward!

Look Mom I scoot backward

Fun!

Ooooh wrapping paper!

Paper is the best part!

We love Disney!

Adi loved having Nana and Papa over for breakfast.  They dote on her and love playing with her.  (Only Grandchild anyone? haha)
Grandma Geri came over too a little later and brought Adi a Disney tea set (Mommy needs to take more pictures!).
After playing all morning, we went up to Nana and Papa's house for an early dinner with Sissy Pants and her boyfriend.  Adi played more at their house then it was time to head home! She was one sleepy little baby by the time we got her home.

Zonked out little mama!

I hope your Christmas was filled with as much love and happiness as mine!

New Year but not so new resolutions

I am not really the type of person to have a New Year's resolution.  If I find I need to work on something, I start working on it immediately whether it is January 1st, August 12th, or October 30th. A little over a year ago I decided I should probably take better care of my teeth so I have a nice smile even in my old age, so I started making an effort to floss more.  So intruiging, I know.

A couple months ago I decided, after a casual comment from my husband, that I should spend a little more effort getting dolled up more often.  (No, no all you men hater, he did not say anything mean.  I was done up for a party or something and it was a compliment that made me want to try harder).

Being a new mom has had it's challenges and "me time" and a beauty regimen have definitely taken a backseat... oh who are we kidding it's not even in the car... it might be precariously tried to the roof with some twine or dental floss. But in the last month I've tried really hard to pull my hair up in a bun or pony tail less often and actually try to do things with my hair.  Vain, petty, lame, yes, I'm aware but here we are folks... this is the blog.
an effort to do my hair?
Anyway, I've been thinking about if I DID have a resolution, what would I want to work on? After an upsetting evening a couple weeks ago, I realized I need (and want) to be nicer.  That sounds kind of dumb writing it down but I don't want to be considered a mean person or b*tch.  I've known many people who after leaving them I feel drained, embarrassed by relentless sarcasm and just annoyed.  I know I have times when I am probably like that too. I would rather be the type of person that when people leave me they feel happier having spent some time with me.

Adi has been this amazing gift in my life that has made me a happier and better person.  I find myself smiling like a dork in the middle of the grocery store because of this adorable little babe.  My cheeks hurt more often and I think that's a good thing.   Obviously I can't make people smile the way this kiddo can, but I would hope I could spread a little joy.

Anyway, after my husband just walked in the room and started teasing me... I think I'll just go back to blogging about my cute kid.

Happy 2013!
