5 Months and tumbling!

Miss Adilyn is 5 months old already! We simply can't get enough of this little Bambina! She has such a fun personality developing already and she is incredibly active.  Her 5 month weigh in was 14-15 lbs (our bathroom scale sucks so this isn't very exact) and she was 24.75 inches long.  Adi is a little tumbleweed rolling and spinning and scooting all over the place.  We put her down on a blanket in the middle of the basement and next thing we know she is across the room banging into the bookshelves.  She isn't crawling yet but that doesn't stop her from getting around.  It's crazy how fast the time has gone by!

Sitting up like a big girl

Laughing it up like a crazy baby!

She loooooves this owl

What a poser, so cute

5 months this day!

Ozzy is always hanging about...

Smile

"o" face? haha

Blurry but such a happy kid

Oh those cheeks could destroy a nation

Having a conversation with her owl (Ozzy supervising in the background)

Trying to crawl! yikes!

Adi's five month accomplishments include:
  • Rolling around like a tumbleweed (not a second's hesitation)
  • Scooting around but not quite crawling
  • Gets on all fours and rocks (like she is about to crawl)
  • Sits without any help or support
  • Waves at herself (she hasn't figured out how to turn her hand toward us yet)
  • Jibber jabbers non stop
  • Holds her bottle all by herself (I just found out about this today! I never give her bottles so I had no idea she fed herself until my dad told me she did this today, crazy!)
This little mama is amazing! We love her to pieces! Happy 5 months baby cakes!

Miller Race 6

August 25th was Miller Race #6.  I only raced the shifter and it was pretty uneventful.  Out of 16 karts I started in the back and worked up to 9th.  It's been good experience starting in the back but it caused me to get lapped, which was discouraging.  I think I might start up with the light guys from now on... we'll see.  Anyway.... Adi was cute as a button, as always.

In her boy clothes

Hooray!

With mommy in the motorhome

Oh! Hi!

With Nana, laughing it up

Loves her Nana
After the race, Daddy took us to dinner at Wing Nuts.  While Baby A is too little for beer and wings, she did have a REALLY good time with a carrot stick.  She screamed when Ben took it away... man she knows what she wants! Such a cute little restaurant go-er!

Yum yum! Carrot sticks are fun to gnaw on.

Miller Race 5 and Rocky Mountain Ghetto

August 3rd and 4th we were out at Miller for Friday test and tune and Saturday Utah Kart Championship race 5.  I decided to run both classes again to get more shifter experience.  Saturday was pretty eventful in the shifter class with karts flipping and flying over each other but I was clear of all the accidents.  The TAG class had zero turn out so it was just me and sissy.  I got first this time and she got second but that seems to switch every weekend! The first heat in the shifter class was awesome I had my best start and finish ever.  I ended up 9th out of 19 karts overall and 4th or 5th in class because of all the accidents (but I don't count that cause I was busy in the back racing the heavy guys).  I made a ton of passes on the restart (restart because of flying karts) and then even passed a couple racing.  I almost passed another right at the start finish line but was hundredths of a second off.  The second heat I lost a chain after making three great passes, oh well.  And the main event I had a terrible start and had to make a lot more passes. I finished just 3 tenths behind the kart in front of me and was faster than him the whole race but couldn't get around.  All in all it was a great race weekend.

Sissy and me on the podium
After the race for beating the other girl in my class (an on going joke with Bonnier) I got a celebratory beer! After drinking it Adi wanted to play with the bottle because bottles are her new favorite toy.  Teresa took this picture and I can't stop laughing at it.  She looks like a little booze baby, too funny!
Bahahahaha (don't worry no alcohol was consumed by babies)
After the race we went to Rocky Mountain Raceway to watch TJ's Sprint Car Race.  The people at that track are.... interesting. There, that's as nice as I can be about it.  We ended up standing on the stairs leading to the box seats to avoid the "interesting" people and their cigarette smoking.  Yuck! Adi did pretty well with her little baby headphones until she got tired.  Notice her go kart shirt? Yeah totally awesome.
Testing out her headphones at her first Sprint Car Race!

Lava Hot Springs and 4 months old!

July 27-29th we went to Lava Hot Springs in Idaho with Ben's squad.  It was so much fun relaxing and, yes, even camping in a tent.  Adi slept pretty good, considering it was tent sleeping right next to the railroad tracks.  She didn't get in the river (only her toes) and she didn't get in the swimming pool because it was NASTY with hundreds of people, their pee, and chlorine to counteract it but she did like splashing her little feet in the hot springs. It was super hot during the days so we had to keep the little one cool with cold wipes and shade but she didn't seem to mind.

Making sure the sleeping arrangements would work
No beer was actually consumed by babies ;)

While we were in Lava, Adi turned four months old! The time has just flown by but we love every minute we get with her!

Poor baby got her 4 month shots... ouch!
Little Mama at 4 months
She cracks me up with her faces
Wow attitude already
The day we went in for shots... poor thing
She's just too funny... and she likes to eat everything
Cute!

At four months Adi is doing lots! At her doctor's appointment she was 24 1/4 inches long and weighs 12 pounds and 15 ounces.  She got her shots but was a trooper, she hardly cried at all and as soon as daddy picked her up she stopped crying.  She's had a fever and been groggy ever since but she still manages to laugh and goof off with us.

Adi's four month accomplishments include:

  • Adi rolls over front to back (last month) and NOW back to front
  • She sits up now with no bobbles but she still topples over on occasion
  • She squirms in full circles so we lay her down one direction and come back and she's facing the completely opposite direction
  • She grabs toys and passes them from hand to hand
  • She jabbers and carries on talking to her toys constantly
  • She is getting some consonant sounds down and making more and more sounds
  • Her favorite thing to play with right now (and suck on) are her feet
  • We tried some solid food but it was too soon
  • She likes looking at books when we read to her
  • She loves watching Ozzy and reaches out to pet him when he does a drive by bump
Already 1/3 of a year! Time really does fly when you are having fun!!
