Two months and Laughing about it!

Adilyn is two months old now! Poor thing had to get her shots but she only cried for about 30 seconds. She's so tough!
At Two Months:
  • She sits with help and her head only bobs a little.
  • She does baby push ups when she is on her tummy.
  • She loves bath time and kicks and splashes in the water.
  • She coos and chatters constantly!
  • She is always smiling, especially in the morning!
  • And her latest accomplishment is laughing!

It is so adorable to hear our smiley babe giggle. Happy Two months A!

Next Adventure: New York City!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laughing and cooing, she makes the funniest faces!

Just laughing it up

Love her silly faces! haha

Margie's 100th Birthday

May 26, 1912 Margie was born.
May 26, 2012 Margie got to meet her great great grand daughter as well as have a 100th birthday bash weekend!
Ben and I drove with Adilyn down to Indio on Friday. We picked up Les and mom at the airport in Ontario. Gram and Granny couldn't get enough of little A. She was such an amazing traveler and she was so smiley (most of the time) and sweet! We went and had a HUGE chicken dinner Friday night then went to a hotel because we were so exhausted from the drive.  Saturday was the big birthday party.  We went to a luncheon at their community clubhouse.  It was so awesome to see how many people love my cute little great grandma! She had friends from way back and neighbors from old neighborhoods even drive out to see her.  Adilyn and Gram made quite the photo opp and people loved seeing them together.  Saturday night we relaxed and had an amazing dinner made by my grandma (aren't all grandma's amazing cooks it seems?).  We even got her specialty Chocolate Mousse... pure heaven! Sunday we had breakfast and then took a bunch of pictures and relaxed at the pool.  We went to Ben and my favorite restaurant Yardhouse that night... oh the beer selection!!! We said our goodbyes and went back to get some sleep before an early early drive home to Utah.   Having five generations together was incredibly special and I will never forget it!

Fifth Anniversary

May 15th marked our fifth year of marriage! Crazy how time flies! Our good friend Jacqi helped hook us up at the Chateaux in Deer Valley. Fancy fancy! We went to squatters for dinner and beer because Ben proposed at the squatters in SLC... What?! It's romantic to beer lovers haha. It was our first night away from little A, I only cried twice... Sigh. She did great at Nana and Papa's house and slept through the night for them. Happy anniversary to my wonderful husband!!!

Riverside California SKUSA race

On May 18th-20th we drug daddy out to California with us to Riverside for another SKUSA race.  It was at Adam's Kart Track and holy cow that is the bumpiest, craziest track I have ever been to! I had dinner plate bruises on my hips from banging around in my seat so much! I had a really hard time at this track.  I didn't completely blow any starts and by the main event on Saturday I actually beat two people off the line! That was about the only highlight of that race because 4 laps in I tried to hold the throttle more on the back sweeper and launched myself off a curb and then spun out.  I wasn't the only S3 driver with bad luck though.  The guy who won was 1/16th on an inch to wide and was disqualified.  The guy who got 4th didn't make weight and was also disqualified.  There were only 5 of us in S3 that weekend so that bumped me up to third.  I felt rather silly accepting a podium spot when I didn't even finish the race but oh well... This summer is for learning and getting back in the seat so I expect there will be more incidents.

Icebreaker round 4

Saturday May 12th was the last round of the Icebreaker series at Miller Motorsports Park.  Little A and I ventured out again to race the TAG 100cc leopard engine again.  It was a fun and mellow weekend.  It was a pretty low turn out for all classes so there weren't many people out racing but we still had fun.  Colby out ran me on the straight away for a good pass and then we hit lap traffic that he cleared and I didn't for several laps so he got some distance on me and I never had the chance to pass him back which was pretty frustrating but just part of it.  I got second in the main event.

Grand Junction SKUSA Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge

Little Adi and I ventured across the Colorado border to race at Grand Junction Motor Speedway.  SKUSA was having the Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge there May 5th and 6th.  We decided the best way to get back into the shifter was to just jump in and see how it went.  The first day was practice and I was SLOW! But by the end of the day I had shaved about 3 seconds off my lap time!  I was really nervous for the race the next day because I hadn't done a start in over 10 months.  Well come race day it showed.  I blew my first start... bad! Not just a stutter but I completely dropped the clutch and killed the engine! The nice thing is I wasn't the only one, but I was the only one to jump out and try to start my own kart... none of the guys did that (brownie points for me).  Anyway, I got going but was obviously way behind the field.  It was disappointing because I actually out qualified about half the field of 13 karts.  The whole day was a series of blown starts and playing catch up.  With 5 karts in the S3 class I lucked out with two of them taking each other out and moving me up to 3rd for a podium spot. Sunday was a similar story but my starts were a little better... not much better though.  Sunday was frustrating because I was following slower karts around, hesitant to make any passes.  By the main event on Sunday though I finally mustered up enough courage and speed and started making passes.  I had three really great passes moving me up to the third spot again.  Sunday's podium felt better though because I actually felt like I earned it.

Welcome to Grand Junction Motor Speedway!

We camped out at the track each night which was pretty fun.  We had a great view of the track all weekend which helped mom and A in the motorhome.
