It's like Christmas used to be!

Having a little one around makes Christmas time so much more exciting! We can't wait for the big day! Adi is loving wrapping presents and playing with all the packages under the tree!
Adi loves shopping at Target (especially when she gets to stand in the cart and wave at everyone)

Just a few more days!!! I feel like a little kid all over again! I can't wait to see Adi tear into all her presents (even though the paper will be the most exciting part of the day).

Santa's Workshop

We took Adi to see Santa over the weekend... but when we got to the mall, the line to see Santa wrapped around the closest department store and then some (at least a three hour wait).  We definitely don't have that kind of patience in this family so we decided to try in the middle of the week.
We took Adi today and she was all smiles! She usually is but for some reason the fat, jolly, bearded man seems to send wee ones into fits of hysteria, so we weren't sure what to expect from A.  She just smiled at everyone in line, Santa's helper (and camera girl) and Santa too.  *tears* funny how a smiling baby makes mommy and daddy want to cry.

Merry Christmas!

A visit to great gma and great great gma

Adi and I took a quick weekend trip with Nana to see Granny and Gram. (Adi's great grandma and great great grandma).  It was gran's 80th birthday so we went to say hello!

I was so nervous to fly with Adi because the last time she flew she was only 2 months old so she slept almost the entire time.  She made lots of happy noises but she never cried or freaked out, hooray!! She liked to gnaw on the Delta cookies and play with the wrapper more than anything.  Going to California seemed a little easier than coming home, maybe because we were all just tired on the journey home.  We used anything and everything we could to keep her entertained since she just wants to move and go go go go go go! This is such a fun age but confined spaces are not easy!

Yum Yum, airplane cookies!

So entertaining on the flight
Anything can become a toy... whatever works!
cups too!

Once we made it to Gran's without problem, Adi was in heaven with all the new things to see and turn in to toys.  Adi loves anything with wheels so as soon as she saw Gram with her walker she LOVED to stand up on Gram's walker and check things out.  Of course I was panicked because I didn't want either one of them tumbling over on the hard tile floor! 100 years old and 8 months old is so unsteady! ha! Gram gave Adi Cheerios so they of course became best buds.  (Wheels and Cheerios, who wouldn't love their great great grandmother?)

Look mom! Wheels!
So much to see and do!
A loved to watch little Gram
Hovering mother hen... No one fall!!!

Happy girl with Nana and Gram

Nana and I LOVED the shopping in California.  We found the best baby boutique and it had everything I was looking for when I was planning Adi's nursery.  SOOOO frustrating since we made different decisions and compromised a lot but in the big picture it doesn't really matter but holy cow you Cali residents have it waaaaay better than baby capital of the US Utah.  You'd think with the way Utah folk pop out so many kids that we'd have state of the art, top of the line selection.... but we don't.  Irritating.  Anyway, Adi love the toys in the little boutique.  They had many fun things that we texted to Daddy back home and he just may have put in a last minute letter to Santa on some of the things... we will see!!!
Scramble  Bug! So cute and Adi loved sliding around the store

Look mom, more wheels!
Baby size shopping cart, love!

Just like back in May, it was so amazing to see these five generations all together.  Watching Gram with Adi is such an amazing treasure that we are so unique and blessed to have.

One of these things just isn't the same...

five generations

We can't wait for Christmas this year! Having a baby around really puts the meaning of Christmas back into it for us.  Ben and I have had so much more fun planning traditions and thinking of each other.

Oh! I almost forgot! I've been working on a photo project for a month now and was able to complete it this weekend! (Thank you Pinterest for the idea)

8 months old!

8 month update! It's so hard to believe our little princess is already eight months old. The time really does fly by! Adi is about 16 pounds on our terrible bathroom scale and 26 inches long with my attempt to measure a squirming babe by myself.

All smiles

what?!

A baby who will not sleep!

Look what I can do!

Adi's 8 month accomplishments include:
  • Cruising everywhere (crawling)
  • Stands all the time even in the tub
  • Walks along furniture
  • Bounces and dances like crazy
  • Chatters like crazy
  • Yells something that sounds a lot like "ozzy" when she sees the kitty
  • Is a bit of a picky eater but likes to sit in her high chair
  • Hates napping and going to sleep, she just doesn't want to miss anything!
  • Might be finally breaking gums on a first tooth!

First Thanksgiving

November 22 was Adi's first Thanksgiving! It really isn't that exciting as a baby eating minimal foods still but that's ok.  Since we spent the entire weekend before with Nana and Papa, they decided to go out of town for Thanksgiving so we didn't get to see them on the actual holiday.  Oh well.  Instead we just went to Grandma Geri's house.  Adi got really grumpy because it was too loud and crazy (22 people!!) for her to take a nap... so she was pretty exhausted and grumpy by the end of the day.

All dressed up and ready to go

First Turkey!

Wow! With Daddy

Happy Little Family

Las Vegas Super Nationals

November 16-18 we went to Las Vegas for the super bowl of go-karting, Super Nationals! I go every year (including a pregnant trip last year) and this year was no exception.  Adi got to come too and experience it out of the belly and in the flesh.  The noise doesn't really get to her except when it drags on for too long, then she loses patience.  She was slightly out of whack all weekend and didn't really enjoy having to sit still for a six hour car ride.  She slept terrible because she was in a strange hotel room... but we managed.  We forgot to take many pictures, I didn't get ANY of racing this year.  Bonnier won the S4 class AGAIN! It was some pretty great racing to watch as always.

2 am wide awake in the bathroom hoping not to wake everyone else up

The next morning... Adi LOVED the mirrors in the room

Babies who don't sleep at night... sleep during races in the bleachers

A very rare moment of sleep that weekend

haha... sitting on an elephant outside a restaurant at the Rio

We tried EVERYTHING to entertain her in the car

Finally going home... get me out of this d@mn car!!

Adi's First Halloween

Happy Halloween a month late! We've been so busy I haven't had time to catch up on the blogging.  Adi's first Halloween was a little bit hectic.  Ben was working a day shift that whole week so Adi went from baby sitter to baby sitter that whole week.  Halloween was Papa's turn to watch Adi.  They had a fun morning practicing walking and of course playing lots! When Mommy got home from work she found them sound asleep on the couch together!
Sleeping kiddos, so cute!

Oh I almost forgot! The weekend before Halloween we took Adi to Wheeler Farm to see the animals and then go to a pumpkin patch! She was very interested in all the animals at the farm.
Feeding a goat with daddy
She thought the pumpkin patch was very funny.  She was giggling and smiling the whole time... even when she took a spill in the dirt.
What a cute little pumpkin!

Back to Halloween.... For Halloween Adi was a giraffe.  She was so cute all bundled up in her costume.  Before her giraffe outfit she was a monster, Mike Wasowski.  And no baby's first Halloween is complete without multiple costume changes, so Adi was also a Mermaid (just for pictures) because a friend's mom knit the most awesome mermaid costume.  It was basically a sack though so she couldn't do a lot of moving so we just took some pictures and then put her in her giraffe costume!
huh?!

Yay Pumpkin!

Giraffe and her pumpkin

Before dressing as a giraffe, Adi was of course a monster for a little while.  Mike Wasowski!

And we had to include this AWESOME Mermaid costume a friend's mom knit for Adi.  Holy cute!

Mermaid baby!
Oh and for diner that night we went to Grandma Geri's house and ate spaghetti.  By that point Adi was pretty burnt out from a long day... and crazy week!
